In response to Homeward’s prevention component, CARITAS has created the Furniture Bank and the Works program to assist in providing stability to formerly homeless individuals.
CARITAS Works is the newest program in the CARITAS family
CARITAS Works is offering:
- Job readiness training including basic computer skills and access to GED preparation classes.
- Wheels to Work - making donated cars available to transitional employees to invest in at half the blue book value to expand employment opportunities beyond the public transportation system.
- Coming soon will be a separate staffing company offering a bridge between the clients from CARITAS and The Healing Place to employers who are willing to take a chance on these motivated men and women. When the relationship between employer and client is a positive one, CARITAS will happily release them to the employer as permanent staff.
- Micro enterprises putting our highly skilled clients to work for you in construction, home improvements, computer repair and networking and other skilled areas.
